Why Disability Insurance

Disability Insurance

Disability insurance is no different than any other insurance you carry. Everyone has insurance on their car to protect them in the event of an accident which gives them peace of mind. Everyone has homeowners insurance because they want to know that if the house ever burnt down they would be able to rebuild the home. You pay for health insurance so you won't have to face enormous hospital bills.

When you purchase Disability insurance you are making the choice to insure your paycheck. Without a paycheck everything else falls apart. Did you know that over 50% of personal bankruptcies in this country happen because of a sickness or injury. These bankruptcies could have been avoided with Disability Insurance.

You aren't taking risks with your car, or your home, or your medical needs. Why would you risk the most important thing to your family - your paycheck? - learn more »

Disability Insurance vs. A Hospital Accident Policy

Duck Insurance

We work with hundreds of Postal employees every day and many of them tell us they have a policy through a very large insurer (the one with the duck). They tell us they already have disability insurance through this company.

The "Duck" company WILL NOT ACCEPT POSTAL EMPLOYEES FOR DISABILTY INSURANCE. We have verified this through their offices. The plans they offer involve accident or hospital indemnity plans. Here's how they work, you fall and break your leg and you go to the emergency room to get it set and put in a cast. The "Duck" company sends you $100 for every day you are in the hospital. A broken leg keeps you in the hospital one day so that would get you $100 on their plan. However, AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE THE HOSPITAL YOU ARE STILL DISABLED BUT THEY ARE NO LONGER PAYING. A broken leg will put most Postal employees out of commission for a month or two. Our program will provide up to $2,000 a month of tax free income for up to a year.

The "Duck" programs are great if you want to use them to offset deductibles and out of pocket expenses. But if you want some help in making the mortgage payment and buying groceries you should look into our Disability plan. - learn more »
